The Promise
Transmissions on fire, faith, and flight
The Promise
You are going to find what you’re looking for. You may have been waiting patiently. You may have been searching for years. You may have been searching for what seems like lifetimes. You may have had pitfalls along the way. You may have taken what felt like wrong turns that led to dead ends. You may have burned bridges or experienced bridges being burned. You may have faced incredible odds. You may have overcome incredible challenges, You may have struggled with doubt and self-sabotage. You may have come up against judgment and the sabotage of others. You may have felt alone. You may have felt disheartened. You may have felt lost. You may have even felt like giving up on your dream entirely. You may have was never going to happen for you.
But I promise you it is. You will find what you’re looking for.
The Muscle of Faith
Faith is one of the strongest muscles you can develop inside your mind. But faith requires much. Faith requires that you carry a naive or profound sense of innocence, that in the face of all the pain and failures and fearful projections you encounter in this life, that you still choose to guard your heart and train your mind to see the highest outcome through all that may arise.
Faith takes remarkable courage.
Faith takes remarkable strength.
But if you cannot live on faith alone, then take heart.
The evidence of your eventual and inevitable success is all around you.
The Evidence of Flight
Consider the birds. We see them soar through they sky with effortless grace. But remember how they come into this world in such a delicate shell. They are born vulnerable, featherless, and nearly blind to the world around them. The stakes are high from the moment they are born and their path from flightless to flight sits on a razors edge. Their very survival hinges upon faith. Caught between the comfort of staying safe in one place, or risking a perilous fall from the world they’ve always known, every bird must dare to be brave in the face of the unknown, teetering between new heights while perched precariously above the ground below.
We almost never see this part of their journey.
We almost always see what comes after.
The same is true for all of us.
Every path to flight is different:
Some will struggle on the ground before gaining the strength to soar above the trees. Some are forced out of the nest and have to fall before they reach new heights. And others are thrown into a life or death situation before they’ve ever even stepped foot on the earth. And in doing so, in facing the fall: they find out that they can fly.
Never be ashamed or embarrassed or hard on yourself for the time it takes to gain the strength to learn to use your wings. But more importantly, do not let the failures and the mistakes and the setbacks keep you from spreading your wings and flying towards your dreams.
You were born to fly.
The Brave & Brokenhearted
This world is full of people who gave up on their dreams. This world is full of people who are jealous. This world is full of people who are bitter. You must not judge them. You must not let them break your faith. But instead remember that these are some of the people who are hurt the most. And as it goes with those who have yet to evolve from the inevitability of painful experiences: those who carry jaded hearts are the ones who tend to pass that pain and fear and bitterness onto others.
Creating drama. Speaking to the negative. Gossiping to others. Projecting reasons why something won’t work. Talking only about superficial things.
These are just the signals of a calcified being. The carriers of a broken spirit that has given up on the path to growth. The carriers of a broken heart that has given up on faith. Many great people have overcome the temptation to live like this and have risen above. Those who stay stuck are those who have struggled to make it through the fall and walk through fire and forging required to step into the life that they’ve always wanted.
Bitterness, jealousy, resent and comparison - these are poisons to the heart and corrosive to the soul.
The most dramatic work you may ever take up in this life is the effort required to keep your heart pure and protect the beauty of your soul. This is the great work, and it like a garden you must always tend and return to. A pure heart is a living ecosystem. No matter how far someone strays from these roots. They can always return. But it is your duty to stay close to the precious parts of you. They are the DNA of your soul.
All hearts are created equal, but all souls come with stories and strengths and challenges and dispositions handed down both from the angels and the ancestors.
Some people get burned and bloom through the fire, some people touch the flames and channel that pain to learn to love more, to grow stronger, to burn brighter.
Some have hurts and memories they never do the work it takes to get over. Some people are born into environments that left scars they haven’t had the opportunity to heal. Some are raised by overbearing or neglectful parents. Some grew up with instability and uncertainty. Some walk through life struggling with abandonment or addiction or apathy or aggression. Some grew up never feeling at home in their own hearts. Some get hurt and never try again. Some get hurt and hurt others. Some lose faith and find it easier to twist and take than to walk through life with an open heart.
This may have you been for a season. But you can leave these painful chapters behind and write a new story. You may feel alone. But you are not. You may feel like it is too late. But it is not. Never give up on your soul. Never let your heart become cold. Never let your heart become hardened. Never let the temptation to take the low road poison your spirit. Never let the temptation to waste away keep you from truly rising up to be all you came to this earth to be.
You could say it's better to live life having never tasted your dream than to live a life full of feasts that was built upon the sacrifice of others but this is not the case. We are chosen and forgiven. We are redeemed. Here on earth, we all require one another.
You can earn, attract and inherit all the beauty and love that is destined for you if you only learn from what nature has taught us about patience and strength, and believe in what the heavens have taught us about timing and grace.
The Seeds of Dreams
Inside your heart are the seeds of many dreams. Some dreams you picked up along the way while drifting in the human sea. Some dreams were suggested to you by others. Some in good faith, some projected from another’s own hopes and desires. Some were suggested based on your skills and natural interests. Some came about based on your location and those in your proximity. There is nothing wrong with exploring the world of dreams. But eventually your heart will yearn for the call of a music that only your can answer.
Out among this endless field of dreams there is a dream that is meant just for you.
You must dream deep enough to find it.
This may take time. This may happen in an instance.
But you must be fully awake in this life to make it your own.
So be patient and be prepared and be brave and most of all never stop seeking that dream that is all your own, and learn to love every step of the way as you discover exactly what it takes to flower and root.
The depth of your dream will determine the conditions for its growth, and like many of us, you will go through many seasons before it can bloom and bear fruit.
Some dreams really can come true overnight. And you can pray for this. Your moment of glory can come in an instant. And there’s nothing wrong with wanting this.
Some dreams will require learning and unlearning the lessons your soul came here to cultivate.
Some dreams are only reached by seasons of serving the dreams of others.
Some dreams are made manifest by letting go, some by holding tight.
But all dreams that you tend to eventually come to fruition in time, like an orchard, where the dance between sun and rain and soul and loving care lead to reaping better and more bountiful harvests year after year - that growth and expansion is directly tied to the love and nurture you pour in:
life to the soul,
water for the roots,
a caring and tender and loving hand to bring fullness to your rewards.
Remember that it is the differences between these seeds, how they flower, and how they bloom, that gives beauty and meaning and glory to the entire forest.
The Time It Takes to Bloom
Your friend reaches a milestone and you celebrate with shots of tequila - that agave took decades to become the rush in your shot glass. Across many moons and suns - it’s entire life led up to the moments that you partake in for a moment of celebration.
You have a fond memory of sitting under the shade of an oak tree, it may even have a had tire swing. That mighty oak is testament to the gifts of time: after all, it took 20 years to produce the single acorn that grew into the powerful and life-giving tree you remember from your youth.
You enjoy a glass of wine with loved ones or friends. It took years to even establish the vines for the first harvest and then even longer to become the drink you enjoyed today. They must be protected, they must be given care, but then, one day, those vines, once they become what they are meant to become, will produce a harvest every year. Those harvests will be abundant. And each year will carry with it the distinct stories from the season that grow more special as time goes on. In fact - some of the oldest vines in the world are still producing to this day.
Then there are even those plants more rare, like the Fire Lily and the Serotinous Pine, that without the trial by fire, their seeds never take root, their branches never expand, their flowers never bloom.
Your journey may look a bit like one of these, or it may be entirely unique to you.
When You Finally Take Flight
Whatever it may be: I promise you will find what you’re looking for.
So bless every step along the way. Bless all of the little lessons it takes. Bless all of the people you meet along the way. Because when you finally find what you’re looking for and you begin to not just long for your dream but live it, you will be living the life you’ve always worked for and prayed for. And when you get to that space, you will become a lighthouse for those still at sea. You will become an encouragement for those still in the trenches and the deeps.
I promise you, you will find what you’re looking for.
And when you become that lighthouse, when you finally take flight, when you finally light your candle- promise me that you’ll encourage another to fly, that you’ll be steadfast through the seasons while you learn to shine your light, and when your inner fire is so undeniable, that you reach the stage of your life where all your hard work pays off and all your prayers manifest:
Promise me you’ll be the flame that helps another to ignite.

Bless you my friend. I will be a guiding light too 🕯️
